hi lisa,

welcome to the endurance list, there are lots of wonderful people here that
are more than willing to help us newbies. Its great you have found your
dream horse, I know exactly what you are saying.

I have just been told that he is to old for me to do

I don't think that is too old if he is sound and willing, you just have to
give him the proper training( yourself too :-) and there are so many people
on this list that have the most helpful advice and they know what they are
talking about. Not to mention they are the most supportive bunch of people
I have ever met.

Don't fret I am five foot and in the heavyweight division and my horse
carries me around just fine and she doesn't seem to have a problem with me.

You will get all the advice and help you need right here, we're glad you
joined us :-)

Happy Trails
