Linda--

Janeen Heath @ Sportack, 1(800)248-TACK, sells Carousel tights (and a couple
of other brands) that have padded knees and crotch, but you can special
order in tall sizes (don't remember how tall you are) and without padding in
the crotch (it's a little much for me). I haven't had trouble with rubs and
bruising since I started riding in them. As a matter of fact I can't stand
to ride in jeans for more than a few miles, especially if I'm trotting or
cantering, get awful rubs on the insides of my knees from the seam.

BTW, thanks for sending your catalog about the saddle pads. I'm still
stewing on it. Concerned about the weight, although it would make up the
few extra pounds I need for NATRC Heavyweight, but if I lose 10-15 pounds
(my goal) would mean I'd have to add dead weight if I wanted to continue in
Heavyweight all year. We'll see.

He should try a pair of tights and forget about how "funny" he looks. No
one cares and he'll be a lot more comfortable!

I wash mine in the washing machine, gentle cycle w/Woolite and add liquid
fabric softener to the rinse! Mine are several years old and I've only had
to replace elastic in the foot and restitch the velcro!
