Up until a few years ago I would have agreed that TBs don't buck too hard or high.

Not anymore! My 16.2 gelding gets so high I almost get a nose bleed! Luckily he only makes 1 or 2 of these big leaps so he hasn't thrown be yet. He just does it to be exuberant; usually when we're galloping up a hill.

I have found that most TBs like to rear. I think I prefer bucking.
