The simple physics of cooling suggests a stong breeze on a wet horse is the
best cooling.
Water cools at one calorie per deg. C per cc. pratically you can get
a 20 deg difference so you get 20 calories of cooling.
Ice melting provides 80 calories per cc.
Evaporating water provides 540 calories per cc.
So we have 20 cal from water, 80 cal form ice, and 540 cal from evaporation.
Of course this not the whole story as we are not sure how strong a wind we
can provide and not blow the horse over. Big fans maybe a possibility. Ice
is very local and easy to obtain and wont blow the neighbors over either.
Just a few numbers to play with.
