I have an "emergency kit" that I -always- carry. It's in a fanny pack so
I can wear it, hook it to the saddle, or put it in a saddle bag. It has:
a space blanket, whistle, pocket knife, matches, vetwrap, beesting stuff,
bandana, and a few other first aid items. Then, depending on what kind
of ride, I carry saddle bags with lunch, water or just a snack. I like
to travel light. In the summer I will carry a sponge on a rope. I was
wondering, does anybody else give their horse water out of your water
bottle? I carry squirt top bottles, and will squirt some in Special's
mouth.
