The following mail header is for administrative use

It is akward to carry a separate lead rope on the trail.
A great solution is to have scissor snaps at the end of
your reins. This way your reins are a lead rope in a pinch.
Most of the tack shops that cater to trail riding have rope
reins like these. Personally, I love the ones that the
Austrailian Connection has made out of the mountain climbing
rope.
