The Rides: The Classic will offer a great amount of flexibility with a two
day 100 run on the second and third of March, two 50 mile rides on each the
second and third of March and a 25 mile limited distance ride on the
second. The 100 is an elevator ride.
The Vet team: We have assembled a first rate vet team for this ride:
Dwight Hooten - head vet, Brad Bentz, Craig Breakman, and Maggie Voorhees.
Three of the four vets have 100 mile ride vetting experience and two have
vetted at the Old Dominion.
The Trail: The trail is a 50 mile continuous loop (25 mile continuous loop
for the LD). Vet checks are on the trail with good crew access. This area
is in the "clay belt" of Florida. So while there are some sandy spots, the
footing on the trail is generally good and firm.
Scheduling: The weather in this part of Florida in eary March is
fantistic. The day time highs are in the low 70's and lows in the 40's
with generally dry and sunny conditions with low humidity. This ride has
been scheduled so that riders can take advantage of both the Classic and
the Florida 3 day 100 Mile CTR which starts on March 14.
