I've been very interested in this thread, and personally would like to
use a log book for competing. I've frequently asked for my vet card, and
they go into a file with information on environmental conditions, the
rides historical statistics etc. I see this as an advantage for horses
and riders, unless a horse is being overridden.

It sounds like there is a potential buisness opportunity too...
