Did you have any trouble with the snow balling up in your
horses feet? I have ridden in the snow out here and it packed so
tight and raised him so high off the ground that he wouldn't
move unless I cleaned them out. It got so I could only go a
short distance and would need to clean them out again. I had to
drive up into the mountains to ride in the snow so I just avoid
that now in the winter. My horse is unpadded and my farrier
discussed the pad with ball option if I really wanted to ride in
the snow. I realize snow can be wet or very dry and this might
make the difference? Did any horses have problems with that.
How do you riders in the snow handle it?
