It's been so long since I tapped in I feel like I've been missing old
friends. Our lives never slow down around here with work, horses and
small children so I'm lucky to read my mail once every 2 weeks. Some of
you have sent messages and I apologize for not having the time to
answer. I've saved them all and will do my best to answer each one
individually as soon as I can.
Just wanted to do a little bragging (a little late!) Carlos rode Cody in
the Panther Run Nov. 4 and sponsored our son Daniel on his horse ,
Hickory, and another junior, Lynn Carlson on her mare. They rode the 35
mile LD. All three riders placed top ten, and Carlos and Cody received
the BC award! This was Daniel's 3rd and longest ride (he rides a youn g
4 year old half Arab/half QH). Daniel will ride his first 50 in
January. Not bad for 2 youngsters!
Just wanted to let others know that an adult can sponsor more than one
junior. Carlos had a great time with the kids and they all grew from the
experience. If you know juniors consider it! For all those kids, even
if it's a CTR or LD it's the experience of a lifetime. Many kids would
kill for the oportunity and they really are the future of the sport.
This weekend we will be going to Hahira, GA for the River Run. Only
Carlos is riding. The youngsters aren't ready for 2 rides so close
together. And you can guess who is crewing! Anybody else planning to
go?
Just biding my time for the other one to grow up!
