Perhaps the inference about there being no nerves in the corners of the m=

is wrong. You would certainly know more than I if that is a true statemen=
t.
This is what has been passed on to me from several well-known trainers ov=
er
the years. I've always ataken it to mean that any nerves in that area ar=
e
deep enough that reasonable bit pressure (that which does not distort the=

mouth) is not painful to horses, as it would be if the bit were a little
lower and aresting on ;the sides where nerves are closer to the surface.
This is certainly true of humans - at least with me! I'd appreciate any
further input from you.
