I agree completely. My stallion gets a neck rope AND a halter lead and can
be tethered OR tied to the trailer.
I rode the Glenwood Blackhorse gap ride this weekend, my stallion and I have
only ridden one other ride together, so this was a lot of fun. I had no pit
crew...

He also has good manners, but I can HONESTLY say I am NEVER telling hardly
anyone at a ride again that I have a stallion. I CAN"T believe the PREJUDICE
that I experienced at our ride this weekend! I actually had several GELDING
owners tell me please don't stable next to them, even though my guy is FINE.
He loves the company. I need a definition of drag riding if anyone can let
me know what they expect of their drag riders I would appreciate it.

I thought that any honest horse would do if he/she could make throught the
trail in a reasonable time (time limit) and be able to help others if need
be. Does it necessarily have to be a horse that can whip throught the trail
in no time flat or was I just experiencing a bad situation? (i will relate
more of it to those who email me privately).

(Ok, this part is for everyone)
BTW, the felt girth did FINE on the ride, but I am going to try a Neoprene,
he was a little touchy at the end of the ride, but NO galling. I talked to
LORI HAYWARD too! She has a really nice horse, and they did pretty well I
believe... She's nice TOO. Anyway, Thank you for all the replies about Deb
Bennett, I didn't get back earlier because I haven't had time! I think I
would rather spend the money on the Fort Valley entry fee.

I agree completely here too, my horse was excited at his pre ride and tends
to lash out, not at anyone, and not too hard, but, just because he is
excited. I get sick of telling other owners to get of his tail when I am
holding him! He is also very well behaved. I will be trying to correct the
lashing out thing, but I can't do that unless there are two people! One to
hold, one to switch him when he does it! I was by myself for the ride. No
pit crew or anything. Don't assume that because a stallion is vocal that he
is going to follow it up with bad behavior. Studly settled down after a
while and actually was quiet all night. (LAst time he wanted hay every three
hours.)
(OK< off my soapbox)

We had a great first 30 miles! He was pooped at the end of the ride. I rode
the Glenwood Blackhorse Gap ride. It was a good ride, lots of rocks though
at first. He got As and Bs on all his post ride parameters, but did need to
be in better shape. He will be next time! It is really hard coming up with
time to ride in vet school.
Thanks for listening, any comment welcome.
