The bad news is the fire has destroyed a lot of forest and homes, but
the good news is that the riding trails have been spared so far. The
fire is burning (still on 10/5) North of Olema and Pt Reyes Station.
The Stewart horse camp has not been affected at all. The fire is
burning out of control towards the ocean- that's where it will stop.
I saw a bit on the news where people were evacuating horses.

I have been watching/listening to the local news reports
and hear that there is a big fire at the Pt. Reyes park all
the way to the seashore. Last I heard over 7000 acres had
burned. Apparantly the fire started from a campfire. What
a tragedy. Hopefully the horses that live in the area have
been moved out of harms way. There have been a number of
homes destroyed.

I haven't ridden there yet. I am sorry that the beautiful
forests won't be there for many years now.
