We both work full time. The horses are on a DIY yard about 1/4hr from
home, and work is about 1/2-3/4hr from there (all by bicycle, I don't
drive). During the week we try to get up at about 6ish at least a
couple of times and ride before work. We can usually manage to ride
for about an hour, in mid winter it will be dark when we set off, but
lightens up fairly quickly. We also will ride (slowly) on the local
trails at night as they are all safe and we know them well. Then at
weekend we can put longer rides in.

Cycling isn't as bad as it sounds - we can cycle cross country to the
stables, which is actually faster than going the long way by car, and
the traffic is so heavy in rush hour now I make almost the same speed
as a car into work, and certainly faster than the buses.
