I have really enjoyed reading all the messages about saddles...
Thanks for asking! My husband sent you e-mail about how much
he loves his Orthoflex Patriot, so I thought I'd better get my
$.02 in...We both rode Sharon Saare saddles on the two arabs we
used to have...we sold the saddles with the horses since they fit
so well.

The Patriot worked so beautifully with his Rocky Mountain
Horse, and we have a friend who adores her Endurance Cutback so
much that I thought I'd give it a try....so...I struck up a
relationship with an Orthoflex rep. I told her all about my horse
who was currently in a Saare saddle, but it just didn't fit right.
To make a long story short, she finally admitted that the type of
horse they have the most difficult time with are ones like mine:
Short Back - Well Sprung (he's 15 H and wears only a 72" blanket...
hence the nickname "Moose"). She suggested I try my husband's
Patriot, sans booties, to see how the panels fitted. They didn't.

I appreciated her honesty. SO...I'll be picking up my brand new
custom fitted DeSoto Custom saddle this week! I hope it's as
wonderful as everyone says....My friends love it.

But, you know, the bottom line is: it doesn't matter what success
or failures any of us have had with our saddles...YOU have to
find the right interface for YOU and YOUR horse. We're all looking
for a perfect fit in an off-the-rack-world. And, anyone who says
one-size-fits-all well....they just haven't been shopping lately.

Good luck in your quest...and may the horse be with you.
