[endurance] Completion criteria

I have a question from north of the U.S. border. Our Alberta
rules more or less follow AERC rules, yet there are some
areas that are different. As far as I know we always followed
AERC completion requirements, which, regarding soundness
was widely accepted as "sound at the walk". I can't find this
statement in the latest rule book, but the handbook published
in the homepage does refer to "sound at the walk". The rule
book seems to indicate the exam should be done at the trot,
but doesn't say whether a certain grade lameness should
result in no completion. If it is up to vet's discretion, do lame
(at the trot) horses get completion with placing, completion
without placing, or are they consistently not given
completion? This has been inconsistent in Alberta lately, so
I'd like as much feedback from as many different states &
provinces as I can get.

Thanks, Brenda
