Bikes & Horses

Since we're on the topic of bikers & horses, I've got a similar problem. I
thought my Arab mare was "bomb proof." She wouldn't bat an eye at cars,
farm machinery, honking horns, lawn mowers and barking dogs. In front of
our house, there are at least 2-3 bikers that go by per hour. For some
reason Samantha is petrified of them.

I'm not sure if she can hear the bikers coming or if it is the movement that
scares her. They are the "Tour De France" type bikers, with very quiet
bikes, so I never hear them coming from behind me. Once we were walking
along pleasantly, and the next thing I know she's bolting down the road. I
looked behind us to see why, and there was a biker. She even watches them
while I'm lunging her, or if she's in her paddock.

Should I get out my 10-speed and have someone ride around her until she gets
used to them? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
