In a message dated 95-07-26 01:05:57 EDT, you write:

Just a note.

Adequan(R) is a brand name for a substance that is naturally occurring in the
normal mammalian body.
MSM and yucca do not normally occur in our bodies.
Adequan(R) cannot mask an injury, it can only be used as a treatment or
preventative.
MSM and yucca both have pain-releiving properties and are used as such.

In my opinion, if a medication is given to prevent injury or promote healing
between rides, then it should be allowed, but ANYTHING given to cause any
effect that might in any way enable the horse to perform better should not be
allowed, whether it tests or not.

I could write on this subject for hours, but I would very quickly wear out my
soapbox.
