Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all who commented on my
original post. There certainly is a wealth of information out
there!

Well, I took the plunge and started the injections last night. I
wanted my Vet to start the procedure, but I will be giving him the
remainder of the shots (1 every 4 days -- 7 in all ) intra-
muscularly over 28 days. After treatment, my Vet will come back
to do another evaluation. I will have him take another X-ray to
see if there is any cartilage change.

I also plan to give him J-Flex (same as Flex Free only less
expensive -- especially, since I'm a dealer) for maintenance,
although, now I'm wondering if I should consider the Adequan shot
every 3 months as suggested by Truman.

I do need to clarify that I don't do endurance rides (and I guess
never will -- at least with this horse). I have done CTRs only,
and have made up my mind to only do the Competitive Drives with him
now -- depending, of course, on what happens after treatment.

My plan is to wait until the middle of September and take him to
a 30-Mile Drive and see how he comes out as far as lameness goes.
If I find that he IS lame after the drive, I'll just enjoy him at
home.

Thanks again, for all the valuable information. I hope I can add
to the "success" stories. I'll let everyone know.
