On EHPS rides in the UK, your time is when you finish, but you have 30
mins to get the pulse down to 40. Above that you get penalties, so
assuming you get no other penalties (eg bruising, saddle rubs etc.)
the only awards given are

Grade 1 - no penalties
Grade 2 - pulse 40-42
Grade 3 - pulse 42-44
Grade 4 - pulse 45-46
Completion - pulse above this.

(I think this is right)

You can also get time penalties (1 penalty=5 mins I think) for going
above or below the ride parameters.
