It all depends how technical the officials want to be.

The rule is that you must present within an hour, even if the line is 45
minutes long. That means you need to figure out how long it is taking and
make the appropriate adjustments.

Now for reality. If it is taking 20 minutes to get through the line most
vets/officials would understand being a little late.
You must meet them half-way, though, for if you did not even enter the line
until exactly the one hour mark how could you have thought you would be
checked out "within one hour" of completion.

The officials are there to ensure you enjoy your ride by providing a safe,
fair event. Sometimes we all have to step back and ask ourselves "Is what I
am doing/requiring really going to effect the safety or fairness of this
event?"

I have a sort of silly question for all you endurance folks.

After the ride and your time is taken, you have an hour before you
have to present your horse for the final vet check. What happens if
you show up within the hour but have to wait in line 20 minutes?
