The worst emergency vehicle that I have seen was on a very hard 100 miler ,
it was a 6 horse trailer , no dividers , plywood laying over weak rotting
floor boards and big peices of the roof had come un-attached and would flap
as the trailer was pulled down the road . In fact it was to be used at the
end of the 100 miler to transport the finishers 2 or 3 miles back to camp
and the final vet check . Three of us finished the 100 miler together and
elected to walk our horses the rest of the way to the check on pavement
instead of putting them in that trailer it was so bad ! Remember that one
