I guess AERC needs a new motto  "To Finish Is To Be Champion"  

Seriously though, It seems to me that an Endurance Champion should have 
completed MANY miles, at least some of them in the top ten or as a first 
place finisher.  I like the new qualifications.  As a relative newbie (400 LD 
miles, no Endurance miles--but big hopes for this year) I have no aspirations 
to a championship.  If I did, I don't think it would mean much to me if I 
could qualify in my first year or two of endurance.  It would mean that 
anybody could do it, and to me, Champion means Best.  jeri
