Greetings,
Eva Taylor won the
Haggin Cup in 1974 on Hugo NOT Sugar. Rick and I had the honor of
crewing for Eva on the GAHR for awhile. She rode both Hugo and Sugar that
year. She loved Hugo ten times more. Even though Sugar was a cut little
dumpling of a mule, Eva respected "Hugees" sweet but business-like nature. They
had a very special bond. I have a picture of Eva standing between Hugo and Sugar
with all of them wearing tennis visors. Too cute. Eva was a very special
lady.
