Horses can learn to follow ribbons, Winston
demonstrated that to me on 1 ride. I was riding with a friend around a
field in the lead following the ribbons, sort of. I was looking ahead
around the field when all of a sudden Winston made a sharp left hand turn, so
sharp that I almost went off. Turns out he turned onto the little trail in
the woods that was marked, but I wasn't paying attention. I would have
continued around the field until I noticed that I hadn't seen any ribbons for
awhile. Sure is fun to ride an experienced horse, he is now retired and I
am starting over again with another horse. Louise
