Without controvery the discussions wouldn't produce anything, pettiness is
not required.

You should all thank Howard (and other martyrs) for wanting to take the
other side of the issue, somebody need to be wrong in every conversation, I
sure as heck know I am from time to time.

Roy Drinnan (the only time you will get me to admit that I may actually be
wrong sometimes)

I don't "hate Howard," and some of his stories are entertaining.  But
when he climbs on his soapbox, he tends to put out a lot of
misinformation.  He lacks historical perspective on these issues, and
too often just doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, yet
spouts off as if he's the fount of all endurance knowledge.  Those of
us who know better have an obligation to correct his misinformation
and "set the record straight."  There are many people who read this
list, and they deserve the straight dope.

Howard also invites the "flames" he gets back by his disparaging
insults hurled at those who do not agree with him, and his "I'm right
and everyone who doesn't agree is stupid" demeanor.

I know the above is bit harsh, and for that my apologies -- I try when
responding to Howard's posts to not get personal.  However, I think
what I said above needs to be pointed out.
