Linda, I applaud you for calling the company directly and getting the facts.
For the record, as a long-time breeder of purebred dogs myself, virtually
every dog breed has a national organization with a code of ethics that
strongly discourages the very sort of thing this woman was doing as well.
Responsible purebred breeders are VERY picky about where their puppies go,
and are NOT willing to sell to the street corner "impulse buyer." Reputable
purebred breeders would likely strongly back the action taken by the
PetSmart store that asked this woman to leave. Furthermore, I don't think
it can be construed as an action taken against dog show people, but rather
against irresponsible breeding--which occurs in both purebred and
non-purebred dogs.
