    Sandy,
Do what you want. There are no rules. If it's fun,
do it; if it's too tiring, don't do it. If you start
then get so tired it's no longer fun, stop.

My brain swelled a couple of years ago (DX: crainial
vasculitius) and the RX was steriods. I was on mega
doses in ICU (500cc IV 2X/day) and 80 mg at home for 6
months. In addition to swelling up like a ballon, I
lost all kinds of strength. I did an "easy" 35 miler
at LBJ Grasslands and an "easy" 50 at Cougar Prowl.
Then I tried a more challenging course and had to
stop. Just too much for me.

In addition to the fun issue, consider your physical
health. If you fall off, would the landing cause more
harm? In my case, I took several nasty falls (both at
the apex of jumps) but was none the worse for wear. I
didn't have surgery and you have. So, take that into
    consideration.

After you make your decision, stick to it.

Wishing you the best of health!
