    Irene, I have to agree about the rope halter thing.  I frequently ride with one and I do get people who really think its dangerous.  IMHO, riders should ride in what they train in and have the best control with.  I have seen horses wreck in all kinds of bits.  Have also seen wrecks with the rope halters.  Wrecks happen for all kinds of reasons, not all of them have to do with tack or the lack thereof.  If anyone thinks they're in control 100% of the time while on the back of a horse...well, hell, horsepeople believe all kinds of crazy things.  Jennifer.
