Ridecamp: [RC] Truck/Trailer

I don't know much about truck towing capacities and such so I thought I'd 
start with you smart folks :)!  I have been truckless for many years and 
have been begging/borrowing trucks from friends whenever I can't hitch a 
ride.  Well FINALLY I have a truck, its not big tho only a 1/2 ton.  I have 
a small 2 horse trailer now with under the manger storage.  It really isn't 
enough room when I haul two horses so I would like to get something bigger.  
My question is can a 1/2 ton pull a bigger trailer?  All I want is like a 2 
horse gooseneck or a 2 horse BP with a dressing room.  Are stock/combo 
trailers lighter than enclosed?  By the way I live in ND/MN its FLAT 
here....Thanks in advance!
