    Very individual preferences.  My husband loves to ride in his English boots and can wear them for a 100-miler with ease, in the hottest weather.  Mine fit well enough and are comfortable, as far as that goes, but I can't imagine wearing them for more than a couple of hours on a hot day.  But then I don't do half-chaps, either--I'm content with knee-high tube socks under riding breeches, and running shoes.
