    Evelyn,

When I first started endurance, I started on the crewing side as well.  Great book you should try to get:

"The Complete Guide to Endurance Riding and Competition" . . by Donna Snyder-Smith

    http://www.endurance.net/RightRider/book.html

Has a great section on crewing (as well as all the 'other stuff').  Most of my rides are close to the bay area and my son is the GREATEST crew but I'll keep your e-mail address and you're welcome to join us and my great riding partner at our next event.

    Good luck,
~ Sandy (Tally's mom, who's is probably confused when I call his name and tell him to "ho")
