[RC] Hunters/Mt. Lions - hope lundquist

Ridecampers: I live in Siskiyou County in northern California. Mt. Lion reins here. The Hunters that can afford to go to another state will do so to do their hunting because the Deer and Elk population has dwindled because of the over population of Mt.Lions. One Hunter this year (Oct) was shot dead by another Hunter. He was carrying over his shoulder a deer he had shot.I don't think experienced Hunters would do this but every year there are first time Hunters. Lesson to Hunters be sure you drape your kill in orange. A couple of weeks ago (Hunting season) I went riding with the BCH on the Pacific Crest Trail to the Seven Lakes Basin. Ran into a Hunter who told me to watch out for Mt. Lions. They are big, mean and are not afraid of anything. The Hunters had found a dead Bear that was torn apart by Mt. Lion! .The ECO System is out of balance because of the extreme so called Environmentalists . Saving one species at the expense of another is not sound policy. Our Forests have also been devastated by Fires because of the same whackos who chain themselves to Trees! Now they have destroyed the habitat for wildlife not to mention millions of board feet of lumber that would provide habitat for humans. Trees are a renewable resource and need tending like any garden. Off my box Hope Lundquist West Region 2060
