[RC] Cost of Hauling a Horse - Tamara Taylor

    Hello,

I have a potential buyer for a horse of mine. The buyer lives in California and
the horse is in Alberta, Canada. My parents wouldn't mind driving to California
for a vacation and have offered to deliver the horse. We are trying to decide
on a fair amount to charge for shipping. Is there a standard charge per mile or
km that the industry goes by? Aside from coggins, is there anything else that
needs to be done to get the horse across the border? We were thinking of
figuring out all of the costs and adding it to the price of the horse (which is
    only $800 US).

    Thanks in advance,

    Tamara
