I leave stall doors open, they come in during heavy downpours, and when it is really hot(to escape bugs I think) and often "hang around there". We have our hay outside, so they only get their grain there. often I have 34 of them in a stall. I have learned to close if if the weather is nice, then they just stand outside.@ of them love the barn, the other two hang around it some. Laurie and Rascal

Subject: [RC] Do Pastured Horses Come In Out of the Rain?
I need advice. We are considering spending a huge amount of money
installing pasture shelters (they have to have tile roofs and "match the
house" to get approved by the HOA) for our 24/7 outdoor endurance horses.
But some people have been telling me not to bother, since in Southern
California it doesn't really get that cold and often they don't use them
anyway. What do you think, Ridecampers?
