Re: [RC] Quality of Life (legislating and regulating) - Irene M Burnett

Wonderful, common sense  letters, Steve and Barbara.  I also grew up on a dairy farm;  my brother has two now, both organic.  Animals were fed and taken care of before people, that is how I was raised.  But when they could not produce, they were sent to slaughter.  Or, we ate them. (No, not horses; cows and chickens only).    A very good point is that there are starving people the world over.   Isn't it nice to have a country that has such an abundance and variety of food that people can actually choose to be vegetarians!   And Steve, your post should be a whopping eye opener;  extremely well said post.  Renie
