[RC] re: Fungus Among Us - Stewart, Carrie

I feel for you girl. Just keep picking and try and use a powder
athletes' foot treatment or Gold Bond powder with Zinc Oxide to try and
dry those buggers up so the fungus can't spread anymore. Also, some
Tea Tree oil will help it too (WalMart heath department).
I am happy that the weather here in N.E. Texas has dried after the 3
weeks of continuous days of rain.

Well the fungus down here in Texas is about the worst I've seen it in 10
years. I've read with interest posts about treatments, and have been
trying them all. I've dealt with fungus before, but never like this!
Yesterday we just finished our round of penicillin shots and tonight I
    get
to go out and have another scab pickin' night. At this point, I've been
picking scabs, bathing, scrubbing, injecting, too much time at the barn
    and
no riding, for 1 MONTH! I seem to now go into a time warp while
    pickin',
maybe I could be compared to a horse that sucks wind, I've got
    endorphins
runnin' loose............I can't seem to remember why I'm doing
this.........and neither can I stop.............how long have I been out
    here?..................it's time for dinner already?!

I'm now suffering with a cold, and have no time to baby myself, just the
horse, I can't even take the time to blow dry my hair completely, just
leave it damp and pile it on my head with a clip. Yes, I'm babbling
    here,
but do ya'll see where I'm going with this? I really don't WANT to go
here. Maybe if I just keep rattling on I won't have to come out and say
it. But I never imagined, and I'm sure it hasn't crossed anybody else's
mind who is in the same fungus battle right now as I am. So I feel
    folks
should be aware and probably be cautious......if the conditions are
    right..............ummm............damp...........oh....................
    OKAY!

I had to add Betadine scrub to my shampoo this morning!

So the moral of this is, please don't treat your horse and then scratch
your head while chatting with a barn buddy on the way out.
