Ridecamp: [RC] Death Valley Encounter- What's it like?

I would love to hear about this ride.  I read the ride stories on the
website and it sounds a little daunting.  I would particularly like to hear
from some folks who rode the LD at this ride, whether it was one day or
more.  For those of you who know the trails there, is one day any harder
than another?  It's quite a ways for me to go, so I'd like to know what to
expect.  Thanks!
