[RC] FEI Report - Maryanne Stroud Gabbani

We've suffered a lot from that stupid weight requirement. I suspect it has to do with the fact that most of the riders out here are men who have no trouble hitting 75 kg with tack at all....not that I have any problem either. But it is really tough on some of our skinnier men and the small women. We've been told "just train with the weight" so the horse gets used to it. but 15 kg of dead weight is not at all the same as 15 kg of live weight. Wouldn't be so distasteful if some of the more important rules got followed first.

Do you know if the weight change from 70kg to 75kg is only a recommendation or has it been adopted?

Also, do you know the rationale for the change? As a health welfare agenda item, it seems countrary to have riders needing to carry an extra 5 kgs (approx 11lbs) dead weight.

    Thanks
