[RC] Truck Camper Shell - Kathy Mayeda

You're talking just a shell over your truck bed, right?  I did the 3-1/2 days of DVE last year (the 50's) and I had no problem sleeping in my new truck shell for all those nights.  I just slept in the clothes I was going to ride in, plus whatever else I had handy.  I didn't even miss having coffee in the morning.

I was never so dirty and happy in my life.  I spent the week with electrolyte gu all over my polo-fleece jacket, my hair all tangled up and matted. Oh yeah, I did take a couple of showers when they were available.  The second day, I subconsiously followed the LD's out, came back and decided to bail out of riding that day, so I was able to get a semi-warm shower at the "resort" before taking a nice nap.  Panamint Springs was a relative luxury, with permanent camp showers, a bar and restauarant.  I envied those with living quarters but I didn't regret going.  It was like a big party the whole week and got to ride with several of my barn, and club buddies and made new friends.

Beau enjoyed the ride too.  He got even stronger by the end of the ride and we top 10d the last two days.  But that's only because everyone else was just traveling more sensibly than we were!
