Hello,  Since Maggie mentioned the Calendar i thought i'd
let people know where it is and where its going.  It started as a flippant
thought of the Ladies of Endurance and was gonna be cute and sweet.  But
now, over time it has evolved to The Sport of Endurance and some people from the
past that people may have heard of but don't know and this year is geared
towards the Family and a cross section of the USA and Canada (AERC).  The
Bill Thornburg Family Award is an award given to the family with the most miles
completed, but the story behind this man and what he did at the beginning of the
sport is what needs to be told.  Thanks to his daughter Callie who sent 2
beautiful photos taken by Charles Barriea that story will be told in Charles'
photos and Callies words.  All the text is at Synergy Ad Group in N.C. for
creation and printing.  Carol Bracewell and her artist Tera will put it
together.  Jerry Fruth of AERC Trails has graciously agreed to finance it
(i never knew costs etc. before a whim became reality).  If anyone has
photos, trail or training tips or even a joke or anything send it to Carol at cbracewell@xxxxxxxxxxx and tell
her its for the Calendar.  Photos need names, dates, horses name, ride,
photographer etc. Its out of my hands now but we're still looking for
OLD photos like the first Tevis (hopefully Wendall),  the Vermont and the
OD when it was at Morven Park etc.  It has evolved to be History,
so we can save it before its lost, but that doesn't mean there is not room for
new ones too.  Tera has the capability to blend in many photos to tell
stories.  The page creations are happening as we speak and if there is
anything of interest...  send it to or thru Carol.  Personally, i
think the RC Photo idea was a good one. Should it include a horse in a ride or
can i send in the one of me being the Sheik w/ all 4 feet off the ground in the
Cherry Blossom Parade or an endearing one taken by Genie Stewart- Spears?
This could really be fun.  tom sites
