    [RC] "tethered"/ponied??? - Wrecksduke

Regarding: young riders and scared riders.....

I looked through the AERC rule book. It doesn't say anything about it being
"illegal" to pony another riders' horse during or all of an endurance race.
That was a little surprising to me.

It seems that a rider should be able to ride/control their own horse..... or
else they are not ready to be out there at a race.

I know of someone, in a 25 mile race, that swapped horses with their friend
because the friend was too scared to ride their own horse. They swapped back
at VCs and at the end. Seems to me that that would be "illegal" too. I
didn't see anything in the rule book relating to this either.

    Just some thoughts to ponder.....
    Melody
