[RC] Very young children - Paddi

I have volunteered at rides as vet secretary where young children are riding 50s.
Some are happy and having fun.
You get to see a lot from the ground in a volunteer position. The volunteers who do not ride endurance have some pretty strong opinions.
Others are crying and do not want to continue. Mom pops them up on the horse and off they go.
One mom (very experienced rider) when asked how it was going said her daughter was crying and said she was going to throw up. The mom told her son to let her know if his sister was throwing up then they would deal with it.
    These girl is under 12.
It was a hard trail and not great weather conditions.
One young boy when asked how he liked riding 50s (he has now done a 100) replied that it was okay. He hurt but if you take enough drugs you are okay.
I get the impression sometimes that dragging them along to ride is parents idea of quality time. Whether the kids like it or not.
Personally towing an unhappy child for 50 or 100 miles is not my idea of a good day.
I enjoy sponsoring juniors but I like them old enough to be able to tow me around ...  :-D
