[RC] New Shagya - SKAT - Roger Rittenhouse

     Me again posting fever tonight

So now you have read the one about Omni and the stifle issues.
WELL., this month BEFORE I went to Dr Wilson, I had decided I needed
    another horse.
So- we went up to Kty to SUN ARABS STABLE Duanna Sellers. I posted
about her horses before, all Shagya from BAYRAM a son of OMAN, the
    sire of Omni.

ALL her horses 29 or so - are great. She has way too many. Most are
young- 4 and under but a few are green ride-able.

I looked at more horses in one day then I ever had before. Problem was
all I looked at were good- suitable - the problem was not if I wanted a
    horse but which one.
There was a nice 4 yr old, I thought he would be too large but Carol
liked him and another 6 yr old. They are are all very domesticated,
they follow you all over the place. Sort of like an orphanage, all
wanted you pet them and 'take me'

I rode a 6 year old with a smaller build then OMNI but very athletic about
15-1 or 2 I did not measure him. He is well put together a nice
    'green ride' and agile.

I will get him on a 6 month lease, with option to buy. All the
standard vetting procedures apply and he must be suitable for purpose.
I plan on taking him to UT with a week after he arrives.
My shoer and a few riders and trainer will evaluate him.
I dont want to get blinded by his personality or great looks... he is
really nice - before he checks out.

Did that with Omni, I want to cover the bases better this time.

I go up to get him Nov 4.

Of course now we ALL know just how this will turn out, Omni will be great
after the stifle work- go sound and be wonderful, but after 3 or 4
months of working with Skat, you know he wont go back either.
So I will hopefully have a pair of Shagyas going next year.

I guess I should join NASS now that I two of these guys.

FYI breed want to knows.. SA SKAT IAHA 1A332855 NASS P-S-H-96-099
    Sire BAYRAM NASS SHA-91-064
    Dam Jayel Tongafarah AHR 155941
GREY - only issue - I wanted another BAY

HOWEVER Daunna has a good number of bays, A double OMAN and a
ANGLO-ARAB x SHAGYA, but too young for me to start.
