    [RC] Directions - Rebecca Rohwer

Hi all you ride managers out there.  I have a request.  I know the 2002 ride season is about over, but this is something to think about for 2003.  I live in an area where I have to travel pretty far to get to a ride.  Usually anywhere from 200 to 600 miles.  Could go farther, but geez.  Anyway, this year when I was searching for rides the frustration that I was up against was sometimes trying to figure out just where the ride is.  Sometimes it wasn't too hard, but sometimes when I was reading the directions I felt like I needed to be a local to figure out where the ride was.
It would be very helpful when writing up your directions to the ride if you think about the person that may be coming from 2 or 3 states away that is not familiar at all with your area.  For instance I was looking for a ride in Washington this year and discovered that there were 3 towns in the state that had the same name.  Working for a trucking company I have discovered that this is not unusual, weird, but not unusual at all.
I know you guys on RC will always help with directions if someone sends out a plea.  But why clog up the system with these requests, when we are discussing more important things like helmets, boots, saddle pads, etc...  :-)
         Thanks for listening.
