I have talked to Karl at length and find him delightful.  I don't think he is into endurance though.  I think he is a "cowboy" who just happens to make a great pad.  I use a skito pad [and have for more years than I care to remember].  The original make is a close friend although they moved away and I have not seen her in years.  Be that as it may, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.  It is a great pad.  Oh yeah, Mike Sofen is a friend of mine too...........mb
