Ridecamp: [RC] [Guest] Respiratory problems

Anyone have any ideas? We live so far in the mts. that a vet can't come. My 
15 yr. old cushings gelding has stridor with nasal flaring and flank 
retraction. He has no fever and coughs only when he tries to 
whinny.....clear mucous.He has no discharge or tearing of the eyes. His 
lungs are full of crackles and obtund any cardiac sounds. I've never come 
across these symptoms before. I just gave him 5cc of Dexamethasone IV and 
10cc of Banamine IV. In the AM I'll try to get him off the mt. to the 
clinic. My endurance friends said I should ask on this site for any advise.
