[RC] WNV in the news: from Slate - Maryanne Stroud Gabbani

Slate is a service that goes through all sorts of newspapers and magazines
for items of interest. Being a news freak, naturally I subscribe. So when I
saw this today, I had to ask myself if this man is computer-literate, or
literate, or just lazy. The answer to the question is available to anyone
from the US government itself: from NAMRU and from CDC. Unless Israeli geese
and/or tourists have taken up terrorism against the US, I think the answer
is that people and things travel very easily these days. All that was needed
was a few hungry mosquitos on an El Al flight. Jeeez.

"The New York Times stuffs news that Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) wants
authorities to investigate possible links between the West Nile Virus and
biological terrorism. The paper quotes a radio interview that Leahy,
chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, gave earlier this week, in which
he questioned whether recent West Nile Virus flare-ups have been a
coincidence. The NYT notes that a congressional committee investigated the
subject two years ago but doesn't report the findings."
