The last year that I put on the Hewitt the Hermit
ride in Ohio, I marked the trail four times in three days. It was mostly ribbons
near road crossings that got torn down, but they were down in other places, too.
By the end of the third day, there were hardly any ribbons left at all. Vandals
also turned over a Port-o-Let that was at a checkpoint.
And to top it all off, the state fined me for not
taking all the ribbons down!
