[RC] Apologies to everyone at The Norco Ride - EgyptianMirage

I want to extend a huge apology and show my appreciation to everyone that
witnessed and put up with my frustration and anger at the Norco ride.

It was one incredibly frustrating day coupled with the loss of my horse for 1
1/2 hours who decided that the town of Norco was much more exciting than I
was, my missing the trail ribbons which were clearly marked and "for the life
of me" I could not find and had to do some serious backtracking (my fault
completely) and, after all of that, coming in to ride camp for completion 4
minutes late even after everything I just told you about. Yes, I should
definitely be extremely proud of my myself for coming in at all after all of
that. Well, that is how I am not seeing it!! All of this was not the ride
managers fault (she went out of her way to award me with the appropriately
titled "Hard Luck Award," it was not the vet's fault, the PR's fault, nor was
it the other riders fault. It was my own and I am going to be the first
person to admit this before I start reading e-mail's about me!! Out of
everything, that's the worst that can come of it!!!! LOL

Now that I have reminisced about the ride and how fabulous it, the terrain,
and the people, I would not have missed it for the world and have considered
this a HUGE learning experience. And, yes, even with me not completing. I
just had to sit back and remind myself that this is what the sport is all
about. Not winning, not necessarily even completing, but the experience of
riding in new areas and the meeting extraordinary people while doing so! At
least, that is how I has always seen it and how I need to remind myself to
    see it again!

Once again, my apologies to everyone I came in contact with, everyone that
helped me when I needed it most. This, even more so, goes to the very nice
lady (I am sorry but I don't remember your name) that put up with me and came
to my assistance close to ride camp and far away from the marked trail that
she should have been taking to complete the ride!!!! Thank you, thank you,
    thank you!

I also want to sincerely thank the ride manager who also handled the "you
never want see" side of me very well, Hugh (the vet, like I need to point
this out! LOL) for his honest and helpful advice and, Judy and Carol who,
not only brought my horses out to this event for me but listened to my
ranting and raving when I was not at my best.

That's all I wanted to say and hopefully now (not then) I am setting a better
example for those new riders that need to know that this "endurance crowd"
are just fabulous people and, once again, it's all about the horse, not you
    and I should know better!!

    Thank you all!!

    Ginger
